Hard Rock Hotel
Having previously worked with Project Manager Gardiner and Theobald, we were contacted by them regarding work on this project. Following the initial desktop assessment, we established the sound insulation of the existing structure by using our PA system to generate high levels of music and noise, which were then measured throughout the building.

Project Nova
Brought into the project at the tender stage by Mace, we were asked to do an acoustic audit of the RIBA Stage 3 design to identify any risks or opportunities for the contractor. Once Mace had been appointed, we were employed as acoustic consultants to keep watch over Stage 4 Technical Design, Stage 5 Construction, and Stage 6 Completion.

Braeholm, Helensburgh
Comprising of a residential development located north of Glasgow, the project involved the conversion of a historic building and the accompanying modern extension into a number of different flats. The historic section of the building was designed in 1837 by notable architect William Leiper and a rear extension had been added in the mid-20th century.

Dumfries Factory Vibration
We were commissioned by Piovan UK to provide advice regarding problematic equipment vibration levels. The issue centred around chalk dosing equipment which was experiencing high levels of vibration, thus affecting the ability of the base loading cell to accurately measure quantities of chalk. The goal of this project was to investigate the issue and provide advice.

Cheam Schools Creative Art Block

Renfrewshire Housing Development

Y Ffwrnes theatre
Working in partnership with Hunter Acoustics, we designed the natural acoustics of this £15 million replacement for the Theatre Elli in Llanelli. Hadley Learning Community School in Telford, Shropshire is an early example of a school build under BB93. Initial design schemes of the school incorporated all levels of preschool, primary school and secondary school in separate buildings in a campus type layout. It was these initial design schemes that enabled Telford Council to identify what they didn’t want: a campus.

Holiday Inn Express & Crowne Plaza Hotels, Aberdeen Airport
Dominvs Group, on behalf of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG), contracted McAleer & Rushe to design and build two separate hotels 100m from Aberdeen International Airport terminal: the Aberdeen Holiday Inn Express and the Crowne Plaza Aberdeen Airport Hotel. The Holiday Inn Express was to feature 193 bedrooms, a meeting room and a 150-seat restaurant. The Crowne Plaza Hotel was to feature a 165 bedrooms, 7 meeting rooms, 2 banqueting suites and a 220-seat restaurant. The design of both hotels' needed to: Deliver 'a restful stay and a comfortable working environment for business and leisure guests alike'; Adhere to Scottish building standards; Meet IHG's high acoustic standards.

Achieving the limits on external noise break-in requires both detailed noise surveys to be carried out, and the acoustic performance of the building, glazing and ventilation to be incorporated at an early stage.

Thameslink 2000 Environmental Impact Assessment
The £6.5bn government-sponsored Thameslink Programme has transformed north-south travel through London Bridge. The Programme dates back to the early 1970s when it was proposed as the Borough Market Viaduct Capacity Enhancement Scheme. After going through various iterations, the project was given fresh life in the millennium and rebranded as the Thameslink 2000 (later TL2K) project. The scheme included improvements to capacity and numerous stations throughout the South East rail network. At Borough Market, for example, a new viaduct effectively doubles the line capacity for all services into Cannon Street, Blackfriars and beyond.

South Kilburn Regeneration
Adnitt Acoustics originally worked on the master plan for this regeneration scheme that was set to provide 2,400 homes, a new transport infrastructure, school, healthy living centre, community space, offices and sports provision in South Kilburn. Two of the residential sites in the master plan are Albert Road and at Carlton Vale roundabout. The Albert Road site is next to the West Coast Mainline.
