Adnitt Acoustics is an established, independent acoustic consultancy practice. For clients, architects, developers, planners and contractors throughout the UK and Europe, we provide advice and testing for construction and environmental projects to be acoustically fit for purpose and regulatory compliant.

Our services range from providing practical sound and vibration design advice and solutions, to surveying, testing and monitoring of noise, dust and air leakage.

We are members of the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) and all technical staff are Members or Associate Members of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA).

Meet our team

Robert Adnitt, Director of Adnitt AcousticsROBERT ADNITT


Robert has worked in the acoustics industry since graduating with MEng (Merit) from the Southampton University Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) in 1989.

He specialises in acoustics of the built environment and has been the lead consultant on a large number of major projects in Europe and Asia, including residential, commercial, healthcare, leisure and entertainment uses. He also has extensive experience of environmental noise and vibration assessment, as well as transportation, industrial noise, vibration and pollution issues.

Robert sits on the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) Sustainability Interest Group, was a board member of the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) between 2006 and 2012 and Chair of the ANC from 2010 to 2012.

Chris has an MSc (Merit) in Applied Acoustics and Noise Control and over 15 years consultancy experience, particularly in environmental noise management and control involving transportationindustrial noise and new housing developments.

His specialist area of expertise lies in all aspects of entertainment noise control, including planning, license negotiation, license hearings and support meetings with clients
and local authority representatives.

He has also advised on environmental noise control for over 50 concerts and other outdoor events, including after-racing concerts at Ascot and Newmarket Racecourses and Glastonbury Festival.

Chris currently sits on the Meetings Committee of the Institute of Acoustics, Chair of the ANC Future Acousticians Committee and a STEM Ambassador.  He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Constructors and member of the Guild of Young Freemen of the City of London.

Graham has a BSc(Hons) in Physics and Music from the University of Edinburgh, 2010, and an MSc in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics from London South Bank University, 2012.

He has worked in the acoustics industry since graduating in 2012 and has worked across a wide range of acoustic disciplines including architectural and building acoustics, environmental acoustics, noise & vibration control, sound insulation testing and air tightness testing; specialising in aviation noise measurement and modelling.

He has worked across the UK and Europe and led the expansion of the company into Scotland and now leads the Adnitt Acoustics team from the Glasgow office.

Graham is currently a member of the ACE Progress Network Scotland Committee and a STEM Ambassador for Science Connects in the west of Scotland.
