Whilst the acoustic requirements of construction projects vary widely depending on the quality, scale and type of the project in question, at every stage of the design and build process, you will need the skills of an acoustic consultant to:

  • Find out: Identify the noise and vibration aspects of your project;
  • Factor in: Improve and refine your project’s design specification to prevent noise, sound and vibration problems from arising in the first place;
  • Get approval: Resolve noise and vibration aspects of planning applications, including liaising with Local Planning Authority (LPA) Officers and providing expert representation at planning appeal hearings;
  • Meet standards: Ensure you meet the relevant design standards and regulatory requirements throughout the planning and build process;
  • Prevent noise: Determine the best noise prevention solutions for optimum acoustics performance, privacy and/or isolation;
  • Control noise: Review and control noise and vibration from industry and mechanical equipment, plant rooms, data and/or energy centres;
  • Solve problems: Identify the source of any existing acoustic related concerns and specify how you can best address and solve any problems you’re facing;
  • Monitor noise: Maintain the integrity of the design and plans, from concept to post-completion, from a noise, sound and vibration perspective;
  • Manage noise: Keep up-to-date on acoustic best practice and regulations.
